Understanding the Impact of Interchange on Suppliers
How well do you understand interchange and the economics of Commercial Card acceptance? This is a complex topic—one that some suppliers and their accounts receivable teams do not even fully understand. During this deep-dive presentation, Jim Lister, a 30-year industry veteran, will explain why suppliers sometimes incur a higher rate than they expect, how data fits into the picture, and the impact new payment delivery applications can have on interchange. Topics will include:
- a brief history of Commercial Cards
- types of Commercial Cards and a detailed look at current interchange rates (June 2012), including large-ticket interchange
- the requirements for qualifying for various rates
- how buyers are using Commercial Cards and the resulting impact on suppliers
- acquirer pricing models/offerings
Buyers and suppliers alike need an appropriate education to optimize card payment and acceptance strategies. Yet, education is often the missing piece in buyer/supplier negotiations and discussions, which can leave all parties frustrated. By attending this webinar, you'll expand your education beyond the basic definitions and come away with talking points to use with your suppliers.

Comments from attendees included:
- The information was helpful.
- I think it was way too much info for a P-Card user.
Note: The webinar was quite detailed in regard to interchange rates, which appeals to many, but not necessarily all.
